W1S2: Homework - Project Plan

Background

Rubbish is a big issue on New Zealand beaches. For example, at Invercargill's Oreti Beach earlier this month volunteers picked up 2.7 tonnes of rubbish in six hours.
Marine animal's lives are put at risk by the rubbish that litters our coastlines. They can become entangled in it or can consume it thinking it is food. Rubbish can also disrupt the wildlife's habitat. This rubbish will take hundreds of years to degrade so could have an effect on multiple animal's lives.
Picking up rubbish off of the beach could make a big difference to the wildlife that calls it home!

Requirements

We have to produce a poster, flyer, and third media that are cohesive and are generic enough that they could be used for a beach clean-up day anywhere in New Zealand. These three items have to be contained in a webpage that is also cohesive to the overall style/brand/scheme.

Objectives

The key outcome of our idea over multiple platforms is to educate young children about the importance of keeping beaches clean and how they can do something to help protect the animals.

Audience

Target Audience = Primary School Children aged 5-8 years old.
