W2S1: Class

The class split into our two topic groups and completed a table brainstorming the different aspects of the beach clean-up topic. This table should help us generate concepts.

We put our chosen subject, audience, themes, and style into the same table format and thought of what tangibles would be relevant to our ideas.

We then did an exercise where we were given 10 minutes to come up with 10 concepts. This was difficult as we had been given no warning so had to think up concepts and draw them on the fly.

Georgia's Concepts

Shelby's Concepts

After that we shared our concepts with each other and picked the best/most successful five to draw up at A4 size.

We had to then share our five concepts with the other groups sitting at our table and have them decide which of those five concepts we could improve. Our table chose the wave of rubbish concept and said that we could improve it by showing all sorts of different animals that would be affected by the wave.

At the end of class, every pair had to present their best concepts to get some initial critique and see which of their ideas people liked best.
We showed our wave of rubbish concept, our superman concept, and our personified rubbish concept.  Everybody thought all three of our ideas had potential, but we needed to push the ideas further in terms of composition, style, and copy.
