I looked at implementing some of the helpful comments other groups gave us today; such as making the illustration the focal point/making it the biggest thing on the page, looking at putting the text in a speech bubble, and looking at adding colour in a way that looks as if it has been draw with coloured pencils.
I feel that drawing on lined paper/school workbook pages might be more appealing to children a wee bit older, maybe 9-12 years old, than our target audience which is 5-8 years old. New entrants to school don't use books with this small of lines, their books have very large lines and are often landscape, so they might not relate to this idea as easily.
